Andy Warhol & The Velvet Underground Art and Pop in 40 shots Imagery of one of the most creative encounter ever at The Village Gallery. Opening : On Friday 19th May from 6:30pm Puglia Outlet Village in collaboration with ONO Arte Contemporanea presents Andy Warhol & the Velvet Underground, a photographic exhibition that retraces the birth of the relationship between the genius of the Pop-Art Andy Warhol and The Velvet Underground. They were considered at the beginning his own creation, but they would become in a short time one of the most influent band of the 20th century. From 19th May to 2nd July, at the most important “Land Of Fashion” of territory , Art comes back at the highest level. Puglia Outlet Village Gallery, set it up specifically among the 90 Shops of The Center, is going to host some shots that capture one of the most intense artistic encounter of the ‘60s. The aim of the exhibition is to strengthen the relationship between The Village and sensitive Clients. History – It’s 1965 when Warhol and The Velvet Underground meet each other for the first time at “Cafè Bizarre” in the Greenwich Village , New York. The band has just performed and immediately after laid off at once because of their exhibition considered too outrageous and trashy by the organizers. Conversely Warhole, spectator of the performance, cannot but be overwhelmed. Years of collaboration begin at The Factory, provided by Warhol as rehearsal space. Nico, a German singer, takes part to the group and will give an even more metropolitan soul to the first album produced by Warhol. Unlike The Beatles, whose lyrics at the beginning deal with love and girls, the Velvet Underground ones describe the naked truth of the metropolitan world, without any omission: drug, alienation and paranoia. The Factory, creative heart of the ‘60s in New York , has been not only hotbed of new talents, but also a real place where Warhol gave birth to legends and myths. The photographs of the artists of the exhibition can describe The Factory itself from the inside, because of the fact they were friends and regular at that “permanent Studio”, that has been at the same time cultural and artistic center, and place of avant-garde parties. The Factory represented therefore the perfect Warhol’s space, where to go through his insights and then try them on collaborators, collectors and fans. The exhibition has the aim to provide details of the back stage , the relationships and the secrets of the wild and brilliant world created from an artist considered even nowadays as representative for his aesthetic theories and innovative charge in constant evolution. And so it’s not only about Warhol, but also and above all the Group he started, The Velvet Underground. A short but intensive intellectual and creative partnership, that in just 5 years (from 1965 to 1970 the year in which Lou Reed decides to quit the group), changed the music history and the Performing Arts. Andy Warhol has been able to match the the Velvet musical flow up to his figurative perception, the lyrics transgression up to the picture one. The Velvet Underground , Nico and Warhol , being as modern as no other at that time, has created a new style that has itself become an icon. The Exhibition (from 19th May to 2nd July 2017) is made of 37 Photographs in different shapes. There will be works of Fred W. McDarrah, Adam Ritchie, Bart Van LEuween, Anton Perich and Ronn Spencer.
